Flamborough, Bempton and Sewerby · Bridlington

Bridlington data recovery. Two trains an hour to Hull; your files, one copy.

Bridlington sits under Flamborough Head at the top of its bay, in the East Riding — 38,404 people at the 2021 census on the town and parish count. The harbour is run by commissioners appointed under an Act of 1697, and by their own figures it carries about 100 small businesses and nearly 400 jobs. Round that sit the caravan parks along the coast, the guest houses on Marine Drive and South Cliff, farms at Bessingby and Carnaby, and photographers working Bempton and Sewerby. The bench sees the same mix: catch and export paperwork, booking databases, camera cards, a clicking external. Send it tracked. Looking at it costs you nothing.

A quayside office PC that no longer finds its diskCatch records, export paperwork and the accounts are all on itLift the disk out and send that on its own
A card from a morning at Bempton that reads as emptyIt came out of the camera before the write had finishedTake no more pictures on it; send it as it is
A four-bay NAS at Bessingby that will not rebuildThe one copy a small firm holds sits inside that single boxPower it down, number each disk by bay, post the disks
A holiday park's booking machine stuck on a black screenBookings, owner records and card takings all sit behind itStop the restarts and let us see the disk
An external drive of wedding work that has begun clickingA season of shoots on it, and the couples are all waitingPull the plug now; running it on makes it worse
Sending it to us: send it to the intake lab by insured, tracked post, with a printed shipping form enclosed in the box. We cover the postage back. Packing it properly is covered on the sending page.

What to sort out before it goes in the post.

The post beats the A64Leeds is 68 miles by road from Bridlington, near enough an hour and a half: A614 to Market Weighton, A1079 to York, then the A64 in. Much of the A1079 is single carriageway and Hopgrove roundabout queues. Let the courier make that run, tracked and logged at every handover.
Pack it as though it will be droppedIf the drive came in a box and the box is still in a drawer, use it. If not, pad all six faces so nothing can shift inside the carton. Couriers finish off more disks than people credit. The printed shipping form goes in the box with it.
More than one disk? Ring firstTalk to us before anyone opens up a NAS box, a server, or any machine with several disks in it. Bay order and labelling are what let the set go back together, and the bench wants bare drives, not the case. A firm that has stopped trading is moved up the queue.
The same terms across YO15 and YO16The diagnosis costs you nothing. You get one figure in writing and nothing is added to it later. Most jobs run no recovery, no fee. Return postage is ours, whether it goes back to the Old Town, Sewerby or a park along the coast.

What one customer wrote.

All eight, in their words →

Tony and the rest of the Hull Data Recovery team did an excellent job of recovering data from a formatted hard drive that was considered to be unrecoverable by 4 other companies. All I had to do is pop it off to their Data Recovery Lab, and it was back in under a week with all data salvaged.

Wes Tanser · Bridlington

Asked most often in Bridlington.

Can I call in with it somewhere in Bridlington?

No, and there is no public counter in Hull either. The imaging rigs and the donor parts stay in one place, so the disk has to travel to them: post it to the Leeds lab, tracked and insured. It is opened and assessed free on the day it lands, and the postage home is paid at this end.

How quickly does a drive posted from Brid come back?

Posted tracked on a weekday, it is usually on the bench the next morning. The assessment costs nothing, and one figure follows in writing. Logical faults are often finished inside two working days. A seized motor takes longer, and we say which yours is.

Our booking database is on one office PC. What now?

Switch the machine off at the wall and leave it alone. No repair tools, no reinstall to get it going again. The disk is imaged first and every attempt is made on the copy, so the original is left exactly as it arrived. Tell us if a park or a guest house is taking bookings on paper meanwhile.

We have a NAS at Bessingby. How should it be sent?

Phone first. Then take the disks out and mark each with the bay it came from before anything moves. The bench wants bare drives here, not the enclosure. Same with a server or a workstation holding more than one disk: agree the order on the call, because the labelling is what puts the set back together.

Get it in the post from Bridlington and we start work.

Leave it switched off. Tell us what happened. Nothing gets agreed before the free diagnosis has said what it is.
