I was surprised how easy it was to accidentally delete what I thought were junk folders but actually contained some very precious photos and files. It turned out recovering deleted files is not as easy, and I tried everything from free file recovery software to paid ones like Easeus data recovery. Nothing could fully recover all my pictures, but luckily I braved a professional data recovery service. - No two of the eight went the same way — ransomware on a laptop, folders deleted by hand, a formatted hard drive, a Seagate external that started clicking, an SD card gone corrupt, a laptop on a blue screen, an HP RAID-5. One never says what the machine was, only that the pictures came home. That spread is an ordinary month.
