Thanks to a very nasty malware ransomware virus, I thought all my business files were lost for good. Luckily for me I searched for data recovery services near me to recover lost files and found Hull Data Recovery. I simply popped the infected laptop in for a service and it was returned as good as new and with all files recovered. I could not be happier.

Eight jobs, told by the people they happened to.
These are eight jobs as the customers described them: a laptop hit by ransomware, an HP RAID-5 a firm was holding for its own client, a Seagate external that had begun to click, an SD card of holiday photos. Nothing has been tidied. Spelling, wording and place names are as they were sent in.

I was surprised how easy it was to accidentally delete what I thought were junk folders but actually contained some very precious photos and files. It turned out recovering deleted files is not as easy, and I tried everything from free file recovery software to paid ones like Easeus data recovery. Nothing could fully recover all my pictures, but luckily I braved a professional data recovery service. I was apprehensive but I was rewarded with all my files back and no nasty surprises with the bill.
Christine Hewitt · HornseaTony and the rest of the Hull Data Recovery team did an excellent job of recovering data from a formatted hard drive that was considered to be unrecoverable by 4 other companies. All I had to do is pop it off to their Data Recovery Lab, and it was back in under a week with all data salvaged.
Wes Tanser · BridlingtonThank you very much for your help recovering my files from a memory card. You recovered 100% of our precious holiday photos after the SD card corrupted. It's been a pleasure to deal with yourselves, and your service has been nothing short of perfection. Quick, simple, and affordable.
Alex South · Kingston-upon-Hull, UKGreat result guys. I tried some free data recovery software but it recovered only a fraction of the files on the damaged hard-drive. You get what you pay for. I didn't think you'd recover files from hard drive but you truly delivered as promised. Outstanding service.
Michael McDonald · East RidingWith a few whirrs and clicking sounds my Seagate external hard drive gave up the ghost. I asked my son to have a look at it as it contained all of my pictures collected over my many years, but he had no joy in restoring it. So I took it to a local computer repair shop and they told me it was beyond repair and just tried to sell me a replacement. So I was overjoyed when Tony at Hull Data Recovery said he was confident of salvaging the files.
Graham Crosby · BeverleyMy laptop died with all my uni work on it. A poor student in a blue screen of death pit of despair, I rang a few data recovery companies and I could not believe the prices quoted. I tried every free data recovery software and disk partition recovery I could find. I spent hours looking at cross-linked files and rescue disks and trying many different things. In the end I knew I had to bite the bullet with an expert, so did some more shopping around.
Chris Farquharson · NewlandMany thanks to Hull Data Recovery and your data recovery engineers on the recent recovery of the HP RAID-5 data belonging to our client.
Eddie Gent · GrimsbyWhat runs through all eight.
What comes up again across the eight
- No two of the eight went the same way — ransomware on a laptop, folders deleted by hand, a formatted hard drive, a Seagate external that started clicking, an SD card gone corrupt, a laptop on a blue screen, an HP RAID-5. One never says what the machine was, only that the pictures came home. That spread is an ordinary month.
- Two had already been written off elsewhere — four other companies called one drive unrecoverable, and a repair shop told another owner his was beyond repair while offering to sell him a replacement. The first came back inside a week with the lot on it. The diagnosis is free, so a second opinion costs you the postage.
- One of the eight is business data, and not even the firm's own — an HP RAID-5 that a Grimsby company was holding for a client, so two organisations were waiting on the answer. Arrays and servers arrive here alongside the laptops. If your office has stopped, say so when you ring; you will get a straight answer on timing rather than a comfortable one.
- Every device they name has a page on this site — laptops and PCs, RAID 5 sets, external drives, memory cards, ransomware. Find the one that matches your own fault and it explains how that job gets run here.
Put plainly: a customer wrote every word above. None of it was bought, there are no stock photographs, and none of the staging review sites go in for — one writer hyphenates hard-drive, another names the free software she tried and spells it Easeus, and both stay as typed. At the end of your own job we ask you the same thing: a few honest lines, and your town if you are willing to give it.
Nobody has written number nine yet.
Nothing is charged for the diagnosis, the quote is fixed and in writing, and the handling is the handling those eight describe.
