Alternatively you can personally drop off your item(s) at the intake laboratory in Leeds, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, and appointments are not necessary. The limit is determined by where a courier company delivers, not a physical boundary on a map. The majority of items originate from East Yorkshire, but that is not where it ends.

A town missing from the list does not matter. No matter where you send your parcel from, the process for sending a parcel to us is always the same: call or fill in our online form to get a quote first; you then send your parcel tracked and insured (or you can hand-deliver your parcel to the Leeds intake lab which accepts parcels Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, without an appointment); a bench is assigned to your parcel upon arrival and it will be reviewed the very same day. Is my postcode one you cover?
Yes. Anywhere a tracked courier reaches. The majority of our cases begin in the HU and YO areas and many in the DN area. Parcels reach us from far outside them too. Regardless of where your parcel originates from, we will pay for the return postage.
Is posting it the risky part?
It's how well the packaging is done, not the miles it travels. If it's an external unit in its own case, just post it as it is, with its cables and power supply. But if you're sending a NAS or RAID system, don't: remove the disks, label each disk with its bay number, and then send the disks bare (if the disks in a NAS won't come out, please send the entire NAS). The same goes for a drive taken out of a desktop, laptop or DVR. Pad all six sides. First, get a quote, via phone or through our quote form, and once you know the cost, post the item(s) tracked and insured to the Leeds intake lab, or drop them off there (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, no need for an appointment).
Will you collect it from me?
No. We don't have a van and we do not collect. Trackable post beats a driver for speed. It also has fewer moving parts than a driver. If you'd rather just hand it over to someone who opens parcels all day, please request a quote first, and then take your parcel to our Leeds intake laboratory, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm. No appointment required. Servers, large arrays of data storage devices or items being retained as evidence: please call us and we'll let you know how to send them; however, they cannot be collected by anyone other than yourself and any courier service that you personally booked.
I am a long way off — is someone nearer better?
In this line of work mileage doesn't count much. The key factor is which technician will be working on your hard drive, and whether you're provided with an honest answer about it. Your parcel will be opened and read on the day of arrival.
