The coastal town of Withernsea is located along the Holderness coastline, home to 5,766 residents at the time of the 2021 census. The farm PC has stood in a damp outbuilding. Does that ruin it?
On its own, no. However, please indicate that it has been exposed to damp when you book it in. Water damage often develops within a board much earlier than any signs appear externally. In addition to the risk of data loss resulting from exposure to dampness, many of the attempted repairs (warming the board up to try and remove excess moisture or placing the board in a bed of rice etc.) can actually cause more harm than good. Leave the machine unplugged from power, please do not attempt to dry out the damaged areas of the drive, complete the quote request form or contact us by telephone to receive a quote, seal the damaged drive in a plastic bag (ensure that only the actual drive is sealed inside the bag not the computer itself), record how the drive was stored and left prior to posting it to us.
