RAID 0 Data Recovery
HP DL360 RAID 0:
I need expert assistance with an HP DL 360 server which has a four disc array configured into RAID 0 and 1. Currently, the server is not working with the RAID 0 system, as it will not recognise the partition in any way. Unfortunately the RAID 0 configuration is the main back-up system for my home office, and I have data on the hard drives which is not available on my computer. I therefore need to know a way to get the data back off these drives. I don’t know any other solution to the problem of data recovery except running a few pieces of software, but this has not worked. One of the programs reported that a hard drive had multiple bad sectors. I know that this is not always a very easy situation, because RAID 0 copies information onto two drives and the data is different on each. The bad sectors therefore threaten my data. I have tried to remove the hard drives in this configuration, and put it into another SATA connection, but I have still not been able to see the partitions which are storing the data.
HP PROLIANT 380 RAID 0:
I need help in solving a problem with an HP PROLIANT 380 server, which is suffering problems with the RAID 0 array. The array has been damaged by someone trying to overwrite or rebuild the array, something that was done by another colleague while I was away. Only one of the disks has been rebuilt, but now the data is not available to Windows, and can’t be extracted through BIOS. This data is basically all the information from the business that employs me, and is currently completely unobtainable. It includes staff working hours and payment sheets, lists of clients, and other information which needs to be retained. I have not been able to recover any kind of data from the drive in question so far. I have already tried to recover the data by using a SATA cable to the hard drive, but the data was completely unreadable. I tried to clone one of the disks using SCSI, but the drives have problems or bad sectors, and therefore the cloning was not a complete success. The data on the server is essential to the business.
